  2.        What Are Elite Swappers?

  6. After   I   read   some   texts  about
  7. swapping,   I   decided  to  write  an
  8. article  about  my  view  of swapping.
  9. What it is like and how it should be.

  11. I  think  most  of  todays  so  called
  12. §A¬3"Elite-swappers"¬1§1   with   ¬450   to   60¬1
  13. contacts    are    not    very    good
  14. pen-friends.   Most  of  them  have no
  15. time  to write long and funny letters,
  16. because  they're  always  in  a hurry.
  17. Like  ¬3copying  discs  and  sending  10
  18. parcels   per   day¬1.   They're  always
  19. interested  in  ¬4"Hot Stuff"¬1 and not in
  20. quality.    But   remember:   ¬2"Quality
  21. outlives Quantity!"¬1
  22.  
  23. These  ¬3"Elite-swappers"¬1 meet of course
  24. lots  of  contacts at parties, because
  25. they   have  so  many  of  them.   But
  26. because  of  that  they  meet  so many
  27. guys,  that  they  have  no time for a
  28. real   discussion   or   some   drinks
  29. together   with   them.    So   called
  30. "Elite-swappers" spend lots of time in
  31. front  of  their  monitor  and so ¬4they
  32. loose their REAL friends.¬1

  34. Another  reason  for  not being such a
  35. swapper is the ¬2big amount of money¬1 you
  36. spend for the stamps.

  38. §AIn  my  opinion§1  a GOOD swapper is:  A
  39. swapper  with,  let's say ¬220 very good
  40. contacts¬1,  ¬2has  more fun with swapping¬1
  41. than  any  "Elite-swapper".  Remember:
  42. Fun  is  the  reason  for being in the
  43. scene!!!   When you have less contacts
  44. you  have  more time for them, you can
  45. write  longer  and  funny  letters and
  46. copy GOOD stuff.  This is the base for
  47. real  friendship.  You're much happier
  48. when you get a parcel with good stuff,
  49. a long and funny letter and maybe some
  50. extra-gimmicks    like    photos    or
  51. stickers,  than  when  you get a 08/15
  52. parcel  with two "brandnew" intros and
  53. a  letter  like this:  "¬3Yo,...!  Sorry
  54. I'm  short  of time,have 2 write 2 sum
  55. others,C  U  L8er!¬1" And when you write
  56. your  contact  a  good letter etc., he
  57. will  be your contact for a long, long
  58. time,  because  he likes your sendings
  59. very  much!   Fast 08/15 swappers lose
  60. their  contacts  faster!   On  parties
  61. it's  much  nicer when you meet just a
  62. few  contacts.   So  you  can  spend a
  63. longer  time  with  them and have more
  64. fun.   Except  of  all  that  you save
  65. money  by  having  less  contacts  and
  66. don't  spend  so  much  time with your
  67. ¬3X-Copy¬1 that you lose REAL friends.
